What Causes Elevated ESR And Neutrophil Levels In Blood?

Hello doctor, my E.S.R is 30mm/1st hours. I had fever on Sunday . It was 104. So my doctor asked me get couple of tests done. Did tests last night.. The report shows Hb-10.2grms. Wbc-7,800. Neutrophils 80% (normal range is 40-75%) .. Increased amount of E.S.R and neutrophils indicates what? I am 25yrs old and I delivered a baby girl via c section 1 and half month ago (it was a still birth) . Please help me regarding this.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Increased number of neutrophils indicates infection most often bacterial infection.
An elevated ESR is seen in inflammatory conditions.
Elevated ESR is a non-specific condition seen secondary to any kind of inflammation.
ESR can rise in case of infections also.
Thus, an elevated neutrophil count and elevated ESR both point towards inflammatory condition.
Treatment of infection will reduced the number of neutrophils and ESR.
Consult your primary healthcare provider to identify the source of infection and hence treatment.

Thanks and take care
