Referring to your pain, it may be of gallbladder, kidney, stomach, liver or simply a muscular pain. More of a physical examination and if needed some diagnostic tests may be carried out to see for the cause.

ESR is elevated in chronic inflammatory processes and chronic diseases anywhere in the body. It is a kind of non specific regarding its origin.

AST levels may rise due to the liver tissue damage. It may be caused by cirrhosis and fatty liver syndrome etc. Reason may be either Alcohol or viral hepatitis. Damage to the liver parenchyma leads to the raised AST and ALT. Some medications also lead to raised liver enzymes.

Investigations and treatment is decided after physical examination and diagnostic tests.

Diagnostic testing:
HBSAg
Anti.HCV
Ultrasound abdomen.
