What Causes Elevated BP Followed By Fainting?

My husband went to doctors today and has a blood pressure of 118 over 54. they told him to follow up with his cardioliogist (he was diagnosed with AFIB yrs ago) he passed out at work which is why I had him go to the doctors. Do i need to take him to an er instead of waiting for a follow up?

Hello,

But dear 118/54 is not a high BP it's low infact and maybe that's why he had a fainting episode . Regarding AFib yes you need to follow up with a cardiologist so we can see the rhythms and do an ECG . Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
