Hello ,
Welcome to HCM.
As you already had problem in pregnancy due to high blood pressure in past , so should be more careful . Blood pressure of 140/90 while on methyldopa is certainly indicative of chronic hypertension or preexisting or gestational hypertension . In some cases such presentation can turn into preeclampsia in third trimester which is a matter of concern and that is why a proper care is necessary . You should consult your Gynecologist straight away as there will be need to add some other anti-hypertensive medicines .

I would suggest you to consult your Gynecologist straight away.
Best Regards ,
Dr.S.Tomar
