What Causes Electric Shock Sensations In Fingers Post Carpal Tunnel Surgery?

I had carpal t surgery dec 16. Was told 2 options for sedation a bier block which allowed quick recovery time or full sedation. I was being encouraged by the nurse to take the bier block she had done it and all was fine plus I was one of the last surgeries of the day so I gathered they wanted to get out sooner... I remember the surgeon taking my hand laying it flat and I thought he would secure it with a brace or something but he didn t, he proceeded to make an incision and I felt it I remember shrilling trying to let him know I felt it.. I heard the surgeon say sternly she can feel this .. then he made another incision and I felt that the next thing I was out since that day my life has been a nightmare. I called 3 times during the first 4 days of my post op telling the nurse my fingers were swelled and red and the pain of electrical shocks unbearable was in tears most of this time she kept saying it was normal and only if my hand turned purple to b concerned but if that happened to go to ER! she also said don t take nsaids they cause bleeding and just the hydrocodone but if needed stronger go to ER for stronger pain med I ended up going to ER over weekend as developed red rash just above bandage on arm ER gave me antibiotics and tetnus shot plus oxycotin . they said the incision looked clean but the swelling was bad. told me to follow up Monday. My husband and I waited at least an hour to see him and then another 45 in the holding room. The nurse couldn t find the blood pressure machine when the dr came in he looked at it from a distance and said it looked fine he also denied a rash he was also on the defense stating hes seen worse swelling . I failed to tell him I felt the cutting and after researching I learned he possibly nicked the median . my brother in law is a ER dr in Colorado I sent him pictures as this progressed he stated it looked like I had a lot o bleeding. the swelling lasted well into January when I went back 14 days after for followup he arrogantly said well it looks like your hand didn t fall off! He made me feel like I had overreacted the whole time. He said I should start using my hand now I said how I cant even feel it! Especially the first three fingers . The middle finger is like rubber its like it was taken off and replaced with rubber I had nearly had accidents not realizing it was tangled in sheets while sleeping , it feels like ice most of the time and I try to keep it warm the dr said it would go away. I asked him if could have therapy he was shocked! but ordered it. the therapist is baffled as I am into 12 of the 15 visits allowed for recovery and the middle finger is completely gone also the sensation on first and third fingers are partial numb on the side closest to the middle finger. I go back to the dr feb 16 I cant imagine what rude remark he will have for me. I have no use of these three fingers, I am taking natural supplements to help strengthen nerves. It was determined by EMG NCV test that both hands are severely carpal tunnel the left was worst so I decided to have surgery on the right so not to deter proceeding with worst hand. it turns out my dominant hand is completely disabled its like having a baby to care for 24/7 . I am typing w left so sorry if sloppy but the message is getting through. I am a Marketing Director and was hoping to return to work status it has changed the course of my professional life. thank you for your time
