Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I went to the doctor on Wednesday of this week. She said that I had an ear infection (really red with a good bit of fluid) in my left ear. I never had an ear ache but my jaw on the same side was intensely throbbing. About 5-6 days before I went to see the doctor, I had alot of mucus in my throat that I was able to get most of the mucus up. I was also blowing my nose constantly (mainly thick yellowish in color with a hint of green in it). I also have pretty bad anxiety, so she prescribed me buspar7.5 mg twice daily. i also missed 3 days worth of synthroid 75mcg. Which one of these is making me severely drowsy and sleepy? The buspar or the ear infection?
If you had the jaw pain and no pain in the ear then you need to get an X-ray of jaw joint done so that it can be checked if you have jaw joint related problem along with ear infection.
At times jaw pain can be due to radiating pain from the ear. As far as dizziness is concerned it can be a side effect of Buspar and if it is severe you should immediately consult your doctor and get checked.
Also, if there is ear infection you should start putting antiseptic ear drops and use decongestant nasal drops like Otrivin. Do warm saline gargles and sip on warm water. After proper examination, you can take a course of antibiotics as it looks like sinus infection also.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
