What Causes Ear Pain?

hi, I had a ct scan of my temporal lobe bone last week and called the hospital today because it has been more than a few days for them to get back to me. My dr said he wanted to go over my results in person. (That s not till next week) should I be worried? What kind of things could cause pain in both my ears without an year infection?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome in HCM.

In reference to your query for pain in both ears without infection in ear means you are having referred otalgia (disease of other organ but feeling pain in ear). These different pathological conditions are-

1- Caries of molar teeth.

2- Arthritis of jaw joint.

3- Acute tonsillitis.

4- Inflamed and blocked eustachian tube (tubular connection between throat and middle ear).

5- Ulcer at the base of tongue.

This is a common symptom and it may be easily diagnosed by thorough examination by your ENT specialist and can be treated accordingly.

Thanks
