Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 20 month old has been on antibiotics since 10/11 For an ear infection. We are a week in and she still has a temp of 99-100 by the end of the day. Dr has rechecked on ears on 10/17 due to her still having an increased tempurature and they look better. She said possibly she has a virus on top of the ear infection and to being back on friday if still 99-100. Took it a little while ago and it was 99.4. Dr has recommended that we do blood work and a urinalysis to see if we can find a cause. I am a little worried as she is my first child. Am I worried for nothing? Could it be viral or teething? I want to make sure she is okay but I also don t want to put her through unnecessary pain.
hi mam/sir,i can understand your agony.we,at our hospital, evaluate for urinary tract, respiratory tract infections, jaundice and bacteria in such non specific fever cases.as the ear is clear,we need to rule out other causes.so,my sincere advise is to get her urine test done.if any of the following symptoms appear, kindly consult your paediatrician and notify like 1)very poor feeding 2)severe irritability 3)unconsolable cry 4)vomiting or diarrhoea 5)any rash over body or extremities hope i’m clear.any other issues, please let me know.i’m happy to help you.thank you.take care.bye.
