What Causes Ear Bleeding With Bad Odor After Inserting The Ear Tubes?
my 6 year old daughter had tubes put in her ears last wednesday..and had her tonsils and adenoids removed. This is day 6 post surgery. She woke up this am with her right ear bleeding and it smells really bad. I have an appointment with her ENT in a few hours. I just wanted to do a little research and see what it could be. Thank you

Minor bleeding is expected post tympanotomy tubes insertion ,as long as it is draining,tube is patent and it is not occluded with blood clots.Bad odour indicates early infection as this tube can act as foreign body or a concomitant acute infection of muddle ear happened.After otoscopic examination antibiotic ear drops might be needed for the child.
