What Causes Dryness And Itchiness In The Vagina After Intercourse?

My husband performed oral sex a week ago and my vagina is now dry, itchy and inflamed.. It also has scratches that sting to the touch. This has happened before and I had to get an oral medication to get it to go away the first time.. My husband is a smoker. Will we have to stop oral sex from now on?

Hello,

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com!

I really appreciate your concern. Oral sex is not associated with vaginal dryness. Vaginal dryness may be due to hormone deficiency or lack of foreplay during sexual intercourse. Dryness itself leads to vaginal wall injury, inflammation and itching. I advise to have more time for foreplay before insertion of penis.

Hope I have solved your query.

Thank you.

Regards,
Dr. Manan
