What Causes Dryness And Blisters Inside The Lower Lips?

Just on the inside of my upper and lower lips, I have skin peeling, dryness and sometimes see what look like small blisters. There is no pain but it feels rough when my tongue touches it. There may be some slight swelling of the lips but only slightly. Just feels odd.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Dryness and peeling of the mucosa inside the lips can be due to dryness in mouth that can cause thinning of mucosa, peeling as well as blistering..
Another common cause can be some allergic reaction..
If you consume lot of acidic foods then only you can experience skin peeling and blistering..
Some people have a lip biting habit that can also cause similar symptoms.
So my suggestion is to consult an Oral Physician so that a clinical examination done so that he can narrow down the exact cause of the symptoms and treat them first..
For now to reduce dryness and peeling you can apply lubricant gel and drink plenty of water..
Apply thick coat of Petroleum jelly over the outer lips also as they help in locking moisture..
Avoid spicy and acidic foods..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
