What Causes Dizziness While On Norvasc, Benicar And Tenormin?

I almost passed out while taking a shower yesterday. I laid down, elevated my feet but I started to sweat a lot. Similar things have happened before like dizziness but not feeling faint or the sweating. I take blood pressure medicine: Norvasc, Beicar, Tenormim, Klor-Con M20Er, Hydrodiuril. Am I having mini-strokes or is it something else? Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

These symptoms are suggestive of severe hypotension (low blood pressure).

If taken together these medications may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure and heart rate to the extent of causing dizziness, fainting, and increase in pulse or heart beast.

Consult your doctor for proper clinical evaluation and to rule out other causes of fainting attack.

You may need a dose adjustment or to stop a particular medication or more frequent monitoring of your blood pressure by your doctor to safely use these medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
