What Causes Dizziness While On Losartan And Norvasc?

I am 64 year old female taking Losartin 100 mg and Norvasec 2.5 mg for BP which is controlled. I felt lightheaded for few seconds arlier in the morning relieved by just sitting down. THis evening it happened again, shaking and weak...it gets relieved in few seconds with no weakness or any other signs. No chest pain. BP was 165/77. I was eating and sleeping well and staying home the whole day. No stress and had physical last month with all blood test normal except few WBCs in urine. Lately I noticed i am urinating more and had burning sensation and feels chilly at times.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for your query on HCM

"As"per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1)Do an ECG to rule out [Atrial Fibrillation] and take your Blood pressure medication as usual.

2)Eat a healthy diet. Try the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet, which emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Get plenty of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood pressure.

3)Try to restrict extra salt in your diet.

4)Try to maintain a healthy weight and it can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. If you're overweight, losing even (3 kilograms) can lower your blood pressure.

5)Increase physical activity. Regular physical activity can help lower your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems and keep your weight under control.

6)Limit alcohol and Don't smoke.

7)Manage stress. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too.

Hope that helps
