What Causes Dizziness, Lightheadedness, Lower Abdominal Pain And Blurred Vision?

I am experiencing extreme pain in my lower abdomen and growing area. Also a constant feeling of needing to urinate, but when I try it just hurts and nothing happens. When I finally do it has either white or black specs in it. This just started today, after trying to urinate about 50 times today, I have been able too twice, it was a very small amount both times and took 15 to 20 minutes each time with a lot of pressure and pain. The first one had about 15 black specs in it about twice the size of a sand grain and the second had about 10 white specs ranging from the size of a salt grain to a sand grain. Now I have a temp of 102, very dizzy and lightheaded. For the last hour I have had pretty bad blurred vision. I am home alone with the kids and no way to get to the hospital for about 10 hours, should I try to find a way to get there sooner?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the extreme pain lower abdomen with passage of black tissue and sand grain type material in the urine do indicate underlying stone or gravels in the urinary system. It is the stretching of underlying urothelium or inflammation causing severe pain.

The blurring, headache and dizziness suggest systemic symptoms and manifestations secondary to the primary pathology as the pain intensity is severe; it involves release of stress hormones.

As you are far away from treatment facility, following measures will help you:
- Drink more liquids in sessions including boiled water, lemon juice, coconut water, rice water
- Handy analgesic as diclofenac, dicyclomine or others with antacid after meals

Contact your primary care for the prescription of need of ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
