What Causes Dizziness And Vertigo After Cleaning My Ear?

I had my ear cleaned yesterday, by an ENT, with suction. I felt really dizzy during, but afterward I was fine. Today I m having some vertigo and ringing in my ear. My ear does ring from time to time, but usually more when I m tired. I had a cholesteatoma removed from said ear in 2000 and I had the osicles replaced in 2001. They said my ear looked really good yesterday. Is it normal to have vertigo after an ear cleaning?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of dizziness and vertigo after cleaning ear which seems to be due to middle ear infection, some kind of growth in middle ear or fluid in middle ear and it could be due to damage to tympanic membrane.

You should not ignore this , because sometimes the condition get complicated. I would suggest you to consult with your ENT specialist and get evaluated. Doctor may order audiometry test and perform otoscopic examination treat it accordingly. You should start with antibiotics, steroids and labyrinthine sedatives for 5 to 7 weeks. you should go for vestibular rehabilitation exercises. Avoid touching and pricking it with any sharp object. You should drink green tea with ginger and do exercises like yoga and meditation and try to make yourself stress free .
