I have a complicated question. I need to give a little bit of history before I ask. I was diagnosed with a coarctation of the aorta at the age of 23 because I have been having symptoms of dizziness and syncope since about the age of 10. I had a cardiac cath with stent placement 2 years ago to repair the coarc. After the surgery, I was still having symptoms of dizziness and syncope. My cardiologist tried me on multiple medications including atenelol, nadalol, mididrine, and fludrocortisone. None of which worked. So I was sent to a neurologist. They found a cyst on my pituitary gland an pineal gland but I have been cleared by the neurosurgeon and endocrinologist as all my labs are fine and this shouldn t be causing any issues. They also found that I have about 50-60% stenosis of my left internal carotid artery. I was seen and cleared by a neuro-optomologist, and ENT. So I had an angiogram done about 2 months ago and the doctors were planning on placing a stent in my carotid because I was developing symptoms of amarosis fugax and thought this could be whats causing my dizziness and syncope episodes. When the angiogram was performed the surgeon said that the blood flow to my brain was great and he did not want to put a stent in because of this. Now I m at a loss and dont know what else to do. What could be causing me to be dizzy and pass out all the time.
