Hi Doctor I went to the Doctors ,, because I kept feeling faint and very tired , so she said I need you to have a full blood count! The Patholigist sent my results back quite quickley , when she got the results back she rang me to have chat about the results My white blood cell were high and my haemoglobin was very low, so she up my iron, tabs to two a day for four weeks and then she did another blood test and it came back the same she told that I need to see a hematologists, I was wondering why do I need to see this specialist?

Hello,

Initially, the Pathologist might have thought of an infection as the cause of high white blood cells, but because the result is still the same after 4 weeks.

It could be a disease of the bone marrow, (leukemia), or immune disorder [the reason of sending you to check with Hematologist], since he can ask for other tests to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Munish Sood
