What Causes Dizziness And Low Blood Pressure Levels?
I am on Bumetanide 0.5 mg. a day. I don t take it on a regular daily basis as I am not always able to use the rest room. I tried cutting dosage in half and taking in the AM and half in PM. my pressure is usually 150/89. I have been feeling dizzy, I took my wrist pressure yesterday & today and it is 103/63. Could this be a reason for the dizziness? I am an overweight female & 80 years old. Thank YYYY@YYYY
Hi, I have read your query and understand your concerns. would you be able to tell what was the primary condition for which Bumetanide was prescribed? Was it high blood pressure, heart failure, etc.??
Answer: There could be a number of reasons behind your dizziness and low blood pressure and Bumetanide is one of the possibilities.
The best approach would be to see your doctor who will confirm your blood pressure and may test for your kidney functions and various salts’ levels that are affected by Bumetanide in which case they could cause dizziness. They will also review other systems and recommend relevant management.
If Bumetanide was the culprit and it was prescribed for high blood pressure, the doctor may consider switching to another BP lowering medication.
Hope I have answered your question. You are welcome to ask for further clarification if needed.
