What Causes Dizziness And Light Headedness?

Yesterday, when I got home from church, I laid down on my bed for a minute. I felt fine, just wanted to lay down. When I got up I felt extremely dizzy and light-headed. It has been almost 24 hours and I still feel dizzy and light-headed!

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to low blood pressure or orthostatic hypotension.

For this reason, I recommend taking plenty of water, increase salt intake and closely monitor your blood pressure values.

Some rest would help. If your situation does not improve, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, blood electrolytes).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
