What Causes Dizziness And Fatigue Along With Chills And Cold Sweats?

I have had what is probably the flu for about a week now (chills, fatigue, dizziness, cold sweats), and cough. Early this morning my left side started hurting (around my waist and ribs). It hurts mostly when I breathe deeply or stretch. Do you know what caused this, and how I might get rid of it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Patient,

there is 2 most likely causes:

1. you have a tense muscle or rib blockage common after having an infection with a lot of laying in bed and coughing. This can be treated with pain medication such as ibuprofen and lokal warmth application
2. However there is the possibility of a more serious complication like pneumonia or pleurisy (a painful inflammation of the membrane surrounding the lungs) that needs to be ruled out by your doctor by clinical examination if pain persists.

Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
