Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dizziness Along With Headaches And Neck Pain?
My wife (58 year old female in otherwise very good health) is experiencing very frequent dizzy spells, mild headaches in the morning, and neck soreness. She does have a history of spinal stenosis (C5 C6). This does not correlate with any physical activity, or recent injury. She is going to seek medical attention, but would love to know if we should be treating this more urgently. Any thoughts appreciated.
It seems your wife is suffering from nerve compression due to the spinal stenosis. It is leading to the dizziness spells and headache.
The most conclusive test to diagnose it is getting an MRI of the neck done. This is not an emergency and you can wait for your appointment.
Meanwhile, she should do mild stretching exercises at the neck, make sure that she always maintain s a proper posture. She should try to sleep without a pillow.
If the pain is severe, she can take over the counter painkiller like Advil drug to relieve the pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma Amman
