What Causes Discomfort In The Left Breast And Armpit?

Hello, I am a 49 W/F who regularly gets mammograms. I recently have been experiencing some discomfort in my left breast/arm pit and was wondering if this is anything that could serious? Seems like it may be the inside of arm and into breast as if you were following an underwire. (Muscle) My next exam is 12/12. I feel no lumps and neither did my doctor. Thanks

Hello,

Because your check with the doctor was normal and you have regular mammograms that are normal and there is no palpable mass in the breast or armpit very likely the pain you feel in the area is not related to something serious from the breast.

It is very likely this is a muscular pain. You can take some paracetamol and ibuprofen to help with it and local warm compresses.

If the pain is not better in a week or you notice any worsening you will need to see your doctor to make sure which is the cause and the needed treatment. Rarely in your age in females the heart can be a cause of chest pain that spreads in the arm but is mostly related to exercise (being active like climbing stairs, walking, etc).

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
