What Causes Discomfort In The Eustachian Tube After A Dental Procedure?

Hi, I am currently experiencing Eustachian tube discomfort and am using prescription nasal spray.
About six weeks ago, I had a dental implant on same side that failed due to an infection. My question is, what are the chances of the dental implant failing again? I am supposed to go back in January (another two months) to have the implant done again. I remember experiencing ear pain when I had the first implant. The dental surgeon said they were not related, yet my family physician said they were related. Thank you.

Hi .
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain a dental implant failing seems to be most commonly due to infection around the implant or Peri-implantitis..
Other causes can be lack of adequate bone mass, overloading, tissue rejection of implant etc..

Yes, pain in ear can occur due to implant but it is a radiating pain from implant site and not due to Eustachian tube problems..

So in case if you have any dysfunction associated with Eustachian tube get it treated by an ENT ..

As far as success of implant is concerned first of all get a proper assessment of your oral cavity and x rays by an Implantologist and after a proper guidence and getting ruled out for the cause of implant failure only, you should proceed for implant..

Hope this helps..

Regards .
