What Causes Discomfort In The Eardrum At Higher Altitudes?

While in Colorado at higher altitudes, I felt like someone was tapping on my left eardrum. Only when I slept in that side. Since returning to Texas I am feeling the tapping still but not just when I lay in that side. I do have a bit of sinus drainage currently. No pain associated with the tapping.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The issue is likely to be associated middle ear infection as otitis media or else giving the imbalance at the vestibulo cochlear cells of the auditory region and said symptoms.

An audiometry with an expert ENT is must to proceed further. You require to correct the underlying infection with supportive care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
