What Causes Discomfort In Lower Rib Cage?

For the past 2-3 weeks, I have experienced discomfort in the lower rib cage area...more so towards the back of the rib cage. It feels as though something is pressing against my lower rib cage. It is accentuated by sitting down. I have shortness of breath and a very modest tinge of blood along with very small brown specs is in my sputum. The slight traces of blood just started two days ago.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient your symptoms point towards diagnosis of lung infection I. e. Pneumonitis with lung damage. Kindly visit pulmonologist and get yourself investigated. Kindly do radiograph of chest and send sputum specimen for acid fast bacilli and gram staining to rule out possibility of tuberculosis. Also send sputum for culture and sensitivity. Start taking broad spectrum antibiotics till culture results arrives. All the best..
