What Causes Difficulty In Walking And Tightness Around Chest While Having Dementia?
My 84 year old mother has been diagnosed with dementia. Over the past few months she has been unable to walk or stand even though PT has been provided. The last few weeks she is unable to use utensils, hold a cup and frequently draws her arms rigidly to her chest. Often with some tremors. Is this just a progression of the condition? Does it progress this rapidly?
Hi, senile dementia, it is not related directly to coronary syndromes like angina. If your mother is feeling pain (reason why she draws her arms rigidly to the chest) could be given a cardiovascular condition. If she had hypertension, or diabetes, she should see an specialist like Cardiology. To evaluate her cardiac condition. The cardiovascular pain, is related with some conditions like Heart failure.
