What Causes Difficulty In Walking After Total Knee Replacement?

I had a total knee replacement in 2002. Last Saturday I took a hard fall on that knee. Five hours later I went to the ER I could not walk on it. X-rays were taken I did not damage the replacement, however me knee was Hugh and I had a lot of blood in tissue outside the knee. I was told to go to an orthopedic doctor. I did he did not tell me what to look for. ER told me to keep ice on it for 48 hours then can use heat. I do work and have all this week. The knee now feels warm. I have a follow up appointment on Thursday with the same orthopedic doctor. Any suggestions you can give me. This is my very first time visiting this website. I have pictures if that will help. Thank you for your time, Pauline
