My husband is a 72 yr. old man who has been very healthy and never had surgeries. He began having lower left stomach pain and was given hyoscyamine 0.0125mg to take 2 times a day on3/7 . . After he was given a cat scan with contrast on 3/17 and went to a surgeon who diagnosed bilateral hernias and large scrotom. on 3/23. Surgery was done on 3/31 and a pain ball was placed along with Tramadol every 4 hours. On 4/1 he ecperienced trouble urinating and his penis foreskin had swollen. We went to the E.R. on 4/2 and another cat scan along with blood work was done . They had difficulty placing the tubing for a Foley due to the inflammation . He now has a foley that we have to empty every 2 to 3 hours until we see a Urologist on 4/10. We were told by his office that the bladder had to rest for 10day from the time it was placed before they can see him. He is also taking generic for ceftin 2times a day and stool softener. WHAT HAPPENED? Did the Hyoscyamine cause this?
