Ever since the 5th grade ive had a difficult time in school. It is very hard to concentrate on what goes on in class and even worse when i try to study notes or read chapters. Im also very forgetful and lose things constantly. There is history of ADHD in my family and my brother has it. for some reason ive never been checked. Do i have ADHD?
Hello, Your family history and symptoms are reflective of adhd in you too, but to make a definitive diagnosis one needs to talk to the patinet and his family in person. Adhd is generally overdiagnosed and failure to recognise other diorders like bipolar disorder ( espically in the absence of family history of the same). So, even though on the superficial level you seem to have adhd but do meet a psychiatrist and then start the treatment.
