What Causes Difficulty In Conceiving?

Sir, I got married 8 years before. First 2 years we had sexual contacts with condoms. During that time I met with an accident and we decided to have a baby later. Due to some other family issues we have no contact since then. Its been around 6 years after our last sexual contact. Now we wish to have a child. Will there any problems after such a long time ? Do we need to consult a doctor before our contact ? Please advice me. Thank You

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Yes fertility of both males & females decreases with age. In males semen quality & sperm count decreases. In females egg with ability to implant decreases with time. Also pregnancy complications could occur with advance in maternal age.
However this does not mean that you cannot concieve now. No you need not to consult a doctor before your sexual; contact. First you should try concieving by normal method. It could take even months. If then you are unable to concieve only then you should consult a fertility expert.

Hope this information helps
Good luck
