hello concerned patient and thanks for writing to HCM I have gone through your query and understand your concern regarding amoxicillin side effects yes,the symptoms that you are suffering is more of a penicillin allergic reaction(in your case the ongoing amoxicillin) But dont worry,side effects will stop soon after you stop taking it if i were treating you,i would recommend you to stop taking amoxicillin now and switch over to cefixime and potassium clavulunate for 7 days.It belongs to another class of drug called cephalosporins and is a 3rd generation and less likely to cause allergies cefixime and potassium clavulunate will clear you strep. throat infection in a week i would also recommend saline gargle thrice daily and take aceclofenac tablet twice daily after food for three days to get relief. I would suggest you to make a note of the drugs you are allergic to,as this will help you in future medical therapy and the doctor prescribing also Hope this clarifies and helps.
