What Causes Diarrhea After Treatment For Prostate Cancer?

My husband had prostrate cancer. Treated with radiation he is cancer free. However, since then he suffers from loose stools very often and without warning. His Dr. at the VA has told him to take Reguloid which says it is a bulk-forming laxative (he s diabetic as well). Doesn t make sense to me to take a laxative for diarrhea. Your thoughts.

HI , thanks for using healthcare magic

Reguloid contains fiber, psyllium. This fiber would help bulk up or increase the solidity of the stool which in some persons can slow down stool frequency or make it less watery.

It is used in constipation for some persons because the increased bulky stool is passed easier.

It may help him.

I hope this helps
