What Causes Delayed Periods, Nausea And Anxiety During Peri-menopausal Phase?

Hi, I had a cold last weekend and ended up throwing up one of the days. Since then I have been feeling weak, tired, nervous, and have nausea. My menstrual cycle was suppose to start Sunday and it is now Wednesday and it still has not started. I know that I am not pregnant for sure. My husband and I have not had intercourse for months. I am peri-menopausal. I m sick of feeling this way. I don t have any insurance yet because I just started a new job.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You may be having a chest infection or a prolonged throat infection. If you are still having a fever or any symptoms pertaining to the cold, you need to see a doctor for some antibiotic prescription.

Otherwise just eat healthy, vitamin C, citrus fruits. It is not unusual to have delayed periods during such infections.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
