What Causes Delayed Periods In Spite Of Taking I Pill?

Hi doctor! My periods were due on 21 June but they were late and didn t occur. On 23 June my boyfriend although didn t insert his penis in me but ejaculated near me. To be on the safer side I took an ipill on 24 June. Today is 29 June. I ve experienced no side effects of ipill. But I haven t started my periods yet. It s been 5 days since I took ipill. When will I start with my menstrual cycle? Thanks.

The reason for not getting the periods can be alteration in the hormones leading to inadequate development of uterine lining hence the uterine lining does not shed after i pill.
You need to undergo ultrasound to see the uterine lining thickness.
