What Causes Delayed Periods And Severe Abdominal Cramps?

Before I got married, my menstrual cycle was 28days and I m hardly ever late. Now it s about 2 months into my marriage. In that month, my period came 2days earlier (I attributed that to our honeymoon trip to Dubai). The next month, my period came 3days late and now it s coming 4days late, accompanied by severe cramps and burning sensation in my upper abdomen and chest . Does that mean that my cycle has changed. We are trying to conceive. I m 26 and he is 36. I ve never been on birth control pills.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and welcome to `Ask A Doctor` service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

* The mentioned pattern is the new cycle rhythm of your menses, so
plan conceiving in accordance to that.

* Cramps can be managed with anti spasmodic medications with your
OBGY.

Thanks.
Best wishes for all future pregnancy planning.
