What Causes Delayed Menstruation While On Nexium?

I was prescribed dexilant for gerd, I didn t like taking it. My nails started peeling and so i swithced to nexium otc. I just finished the 2 week program, but i m 2 days late for my period. Does that happen, normally or should i just go get a test?

Physical or emotional stress or illness can cause the period to be delayed so if the reflux was very bad or you were otherwise unwell , this could be the cause.

You can repeat the pregnancy test in a few days to recheck the result.

Other causes of delayed or irregular period are: (1) polycystic ovarian syndrome
(2)high prolactin hormone levels
(3)abnormal thyroid hormone levels
(4)extreme physical activity
(5)inadequate diet
