What Causes Delay In Periods With Negative UPT?

Can somebody help me coz im quite scared of getting pregnant. Last Sept. 25 2014 i had my first day of menstruation. Eversince i have my period regularly. After that menstrual period i stopped taking oral contraceptives coz i thought oral pill caused my cervix problem. I have sex on October 3rd but my partner used condom, again on the 7th still using condom. I thought im going to have my menstruation between October 22-25, so i have sex on the 22nd without condom, for i felt it s safe not to get pregnant. but until now i dont have my menstruation, but i already have my pregnancy test last October 24, and it was negative. what could happen to me? is my pregnancy test accurate? can i be pregnant having sex on Oct 22nd without condom? please help me. Thank you

Hallow Dear,

Irregularity in taking contraceptive pills can shift the regularity of the menses and the egg release also. You cannot rely on safe period if you are irregular in taking birth control pills. The egg release can get shifted. While on birth control pills, there is always cervical erosion. It is due to the oestrogen hormones in the pills. You should not be concerned about it and should not stop the pills.

Now the best option for you is to get urine tested for pregnancy. It is almost 8 weeks since your last menstrual period, so the urine pregnancy test will be reliable. If it is positive, you may opt for medical termination of pregnancy which is safe and successful up to 9 weeks of gestation. The UPT you did on 24 October was too early. These tests are reliable 8-10 after missed period; before that they can give false negative results.

Hope this helps you.
