What Causes Delay In Periods While On Daphne Pills?

Hi, I have a 6month old baby right now and i m taking daphne pills for almost 3months now. On my 2nd month of taking the pill, i still have menstruation but on the 3rd month my menstruation stopped. I think i m 4 days delayed now. Im taking the pill regularly and at same time. Is this something i should worry or is absence of menstruation a side effect of the pill?please reply

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

There are so many causes other than pregnancy which may cause delayed menses. The most common causes at your age is due to hormonal imbalance, stress, anxiety, PCOD, thyroid disorder, anemia, diet changes, exercise, infection, ovarian cyst, birth control pills and infection. As you are not having any other symptoms you can wait for one more week and if you will not resume it than consult a Gynecologist and get yourself examined and investigation done to rule out the above mentioned causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
