Hello,
Thank you for using HCM.
Having a delay of the menstrual periods for few days is very common. Ont he other hand I understand your concern on the risk for pregnancy because the first diagnosis we consider in this case is a pregnancy. I would recommend you to have another urine pregnancy test with the first urine in the morning in the next couple of days (urine in the morning is ore concentrated and increases the possibility to be positive if you are pregnant). Also another day or so will have gone by and BHCG (which is the substance checked for with urinary pregnancy test) increases with at least 60% in 2 days increasing the possibility to be positive if pregnant. You can have a test in 3-4 days for a week and if still negative and no periods than you will need to check blood levels of BHCG and a vaginal ultrasound for diagnosis.
Meanwhile I would recommend you to start as soon as possible on prenatal vitamins or at least folic acid 400-800 Ui a day if you would like to have this pregnancy go on and be a healthy one.
Hope this answers to your question and is helpful to you
