What Causes Delay In Periods Despite Having Negative UPT?

I have not been having a period for the last two months. I went off of both control completely in September, and had cycles that were approximately 40 days long. My last period started on February 10th. on February 22nd, i started taking birth control pills again, but stopped after 2 days since I decided I no longer wanted to take them. I had some spotting on February 27th. On March 19th, I had unprotected sex, and there was some spotting afterward. I did not have a period during the month of march and I have not had one yet in April. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests, one on April 14th, and one today, on April 27th, and both were negative. I was just wondering what might be causing my missed periods.

Hello,

You are presently not on any contraceptive pills or device. You had unprotected sex and have delayed periods since about a month or more. Your pregnancy tests have come negative. To confirm that you are not pregnant, get clinically examined by a gynecologist. Get per vaginal check up done to detect bulky uterus. You will have to get USG (Uterus and fallopian tubes) done to detect pregnancy / ectopic pregnancy.

If pregnancy is not detected, delayed periods may be due to hormonal imbalance, anemia, poor general health condition, PCOS, over weight or being underweight, etc. Get required blood tests and investigations done so that treatment can be started at the earliest. Avoid stress both emotional or physical as it may cause delay in periods and affect uterine health. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
