What Causes Delay In Onset Of Menstruation?

Hi Doctor, My daughter is thirteen years old and I cannot stop her from eating. She is over weight and will not try to help herself. She also has not begun her period, yet. Her doctors have run all the standard tests on her and are not finding anything abnormal, except her appetite.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
welcome to HCM.
i appreciate your concern for your daughter.
it will be considered as primary amenorrhoea if there is no menstruation at the age of 13 without secondary and at the age of 15 with secondary sexual charecter.
there are so many causes.
obesity is one of them.
you should try the low calorie diet and proper exercise for weight reduction.
consult a good endocrinologist too.
hope this is helpful.
regards.
