What Causes Deep Open Wound On Leg With Reddish Peeling Skin Around The Area?

Someone in my home has a hole about three inches in diameter on their leg. It is deep open wound. The skin around it is red, flakey and peeling. He said just an abrasion that got infected. I have a 5 year old daughter and myself here. I am scared it is something worse. Went to a clinic and got 20 generic bactrium. I have a pic on my phone. It looks like you can see everything inside. Help!!!

any wound first dibetes is to be ruled out. if ruled out tne proper dressing daily with sterile gauge pt or stuffed into wound will enhence wound healing. take protien rich food. mantain hygine.
