What Causes Dark Yellow Urine With Foul Odor And Back Pain?
I wake up around 3am and my urine has smelt quite bad the last few weeks. darkish yellow I can only just get out of bed because around my back middle area is aching and hurts when I get out of bed like my kidneys are sore or something in that area. I go to bed quite normal but it s always around this time when it seems my body has settled and slept for a while.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to urinary tract infection. Urine routine will be helpful to rule out this. Puss cells will be present plenty in case of bacterial infection. In that case you require antibiotic therapy. For my patients with such case I would recommend antibiotics like Norfloxacin and send urine for culture and change antibiotic if necessary after culture report. Taking cranberry juice or barley water will be helpful to dilute the urine. Disodium hydrogen citrate or potassium citrate is also good to get relief from symptoms.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
