I'm a 38 year old woman and before my period I have dark discharge, or dark blood, not in any great amount but enough to have to wear liners. My Gynocologist said that it was the blood from my previous period that hadn´t completely been lost and with contact with air, it changes colour. I have a small cyst which is under control and have had a blood test recently which just says I am lacking in iron ( I am taking iron tablets at the moment to increase my levels). Do I accept the explanation that my Dr. has given me, is this kind of thing normal or should I go and get a second opinnion?
