What Causes Dark Pigmentation Of Shin Area?

i I have an area on my shin that is indented & darker than the rest of my leg. About 10 months ago I tripped & fell down a couple steps, nothing major just bruised & scraped. The spot on ky shin is one of the bruises from that fall. Shouldn t it have healed by now. I m not diabetic.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems like the discolouration or bruising over the shin with a history of bruising seems to be due to injury only causing ruptured blood vessels and spillage of blood into the soft tissues leading to bruising and hematoma formation..
Although ten months is a long time for it to resolve and should have resolved by now but as if the bruise is still present you can apply a Heparin containing ointment/gel over it..
Do alternate warm and cool compresses over it..
It will gradually resolve..
In case if still does not show signs of improvement you can can consult a physician and get evaluated..
