What Causes Dark Brown Vaginal Spotting While HPT Is Negative?

Last week on Sunday (May 31) I noticed some dark bleeding and thought it could be the beginning of my period, this is earlier then my typical period. I used a couple tampons on Monday and Tuesday but did not have a lot of bleeding. Mostly it was dark brown. I did two pregnancy tests this weekend (June 4th) but they were negative. Then last night I noticed two drops of blood. Is it possible that I am pregnant? My breasts are not sore though.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of what is your age If you are in 40s, it may be peri-menopausal bleeding. Also, you will have to look at the cervix as well to make a clear diagnosis. Consult your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dinesh Mehra, General & Family Physician
