What Causes Cramps And Abdominal Pain After Taking Vitamin C To Induce Abortion?

Hi doctor.. Good day.. I am from philippines, where abortion is not legal as we all know. I am not even sure how many weeks am I pregnant. If I m not mistaken, I had the first drop of my last menstruation last December 29 or 30 of 2014. I took so many vitamin C to induce miscarriage which I read from the internet. After taking high doses of vitamin C for 3 days, I felt a heavy cramping and pain on my lower abdomen, and I expected to miscarry but it just caused me to have diarrhea, it lasted just for a day. I was scared so I stopped the Vitamin C intake. Is there any way to miscarry? I still feel bloated and gassy, but unlike during the first couple of days and weeks i missed my period. Thank you and I hope you could help me with my situation.

I understand your concern.
There is no proper evidence to support Vitamin C as an abortifacient. Vitamin C does not induce an abortion in every woman. Even if it induce uterine contractions, there is a high possibility of abortion being incomplete.
It is not a safe way to use high doses of Vitamin C to induce abortion as many of them experience uncomfortable side effects such as: hot flashes, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, constipation, kidney stones, rashes, headache, fatigue, hemorrhage and disturbance in sleep.
Some of the symptoms what you are experiencing seems to be the side effects of Vitamin C intake.
Kindly seek medical attention at the earliest and undergo the process of abortion in a scientific and methodical way so as to prevent complications arising out of it.
