What Causes Coughing Up Of Blood Along With Mucus?

Sir , iam coughing up blood in the moring while clearing my throat. I felt it is coming from my throat because of dryness.I was examined by the pulmonolgy doctor and concluded early mild bronchitis, sputum test reports are negetive.but the ENT specialist said oral cavity my be the reason for rusty mucus and suggested for a sputum test.can one please advice me what was happend to me

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that your symptoms are related to post nasal drip of mucus. This can cause inflammation of the back of the throat resulting in the presence of blood.

It is most commonly due to allergies.

Treatment involves : (1)avoidance of allergens if known
(2)topical steroid nasal spray such as nasonex, nasocort, flonase, rhinocort
(3)oral antihistamines
