What Causes Coughing And Metallic Taste In Mouth While Having GERD?

Hello I was seen at an urgent care center about 4 weeks ago when I presented with shortness of breath, coughing, fever, vomiting and weakness and was diagnosed with bronchitis and esophagitis. Aside from the two diagnosis I presently had/have GERD as well and in noticing that even after my medications and antibiotics I m still having a lot of coughing (mostly a dry persistent cough) followed by a metallic taste in my mouth and chest spreness

Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

I think that you suffer from Aspiration pneumonia. It might be caused by GERD.

To confirm the diagnosis you need:
1. Pulmonary X-ray.
2. Complete blood count.
3. Urine test.
4. Respiratory function test.

To treat this condition you should take antibiotics and proton pump inhibitor medications.
