What Causes Cough And Tingling Sensation In The Throat?

I have had a tickle in my throat kind of cough for several weeks..I am now having a hoarse voice...the coughing is not as often as it was but it is still there. I have been seen by one doctor and two nurse practitioners..I feel better but still having issues. I also just quit smoking 1/2 pack a day about a month ago. I quit because I was so sick. Thank you

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cough and tingling sensation in the throat which is because of upper respiratory infection or sinusitis. I would suggest you to start with course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications for 3 days. Avoid cold beverages. Do warm saline gargles 3-4 times a day with lukewarm water. Take diet rich in fruits rich in vitamin C as it will boost your immunity. Keep on sippin lukewarm water whole day. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start proper course of antibiotics. You can take steam inhalation and an expectorant cough syrup if cough is associated with sputum. Phenylephrine, chlorpheniramine maleate are effective cough syrups.
